Scott asks the DALL-E 2 artificial intelligence to draw mosaics about scientists (in English). It's really funny in places, especially if you're a geek and know who Occam, Ada Lovelace, Tycho Brahe, and other worthy figures are. I recommend reading it if you're interested in how a machine mind learns and where it hesitates. No special knowledge is needed, there are no formulas in the post.
Today I had a dream that because of sanctions, the Russian cosmonauts on the lunar base don't have enough fuel to return home. However, they do have honey, from which they can extract the aromatic carbohydrates needed to synthesize fuel. Unfortunately, they're missing a small bit of equipment that only the Americans have. So they're begging for it, appealing to mutual aid and basic humanity.
Did they make it back? I don't know.
Yesterday Daugavpils Velokross 2022 took place. (https://velokross.sniegpulkstenite.lv/daugavpils-velokross-2022/), organized by the tourist club "Snowdrop".
I helped out a bit there with the setup and cleanup of all sorts of objects: gates, fences, tables, tents, signs, fence pegs, and so on.
