Had a gap between lectures, went to see the feature film The Brothers Grimm at Riga's main cinema Coca Cola Plaza.
I can't understand why the film gets bashed in all the reviews. In my opinion, 8/10. A dark and solidly sustained style, believable special effects (except for the boy girl with the rubber face). Gothic.
Expected an almost trashy fairy tale horror flick, but got a solid fantasy without much mush and sentimentality. And a serious and realistic one at that, not really like a fairy tale, much like The Lord of the Rings. Nice.
