Today I decided to test my endurance, and decided to walk to a shop 3 km away. I wrapped myself up like an onion. Long johns, as one should, and my favourite yellow sweater by Yves Saint Laurent. Only I had no gloves, gave them to a chick for New Year.
And off I trudged through the frost. -30, 85% and 12 metres per second. But it was fun, and if you smear your face with camel fat, even the wind is no bother. So I conclude from this that one can live in Norilsk at minus 37 and humidity up to a hundred. At first it pounds you, but then you get used to it. I walked with my head held proudly high, while everyone else trotted along, timidly pinning back their ears and prancing.
And at the supermarket there was a s ale: "In dreadful cold, from the heart, forever", and hungry crowds on a Friday evening came running to buy things. And all I needed to buy was two light bulbs, which had burned out because of the frost. I searched for them for a long time, but did not find them, found only yoghurt and rubbish bags, useful things too. I seem to remember there was also a chocolate bar.
I only managed to find the bulbs near the burning and smoking checkout, 75 and 100 watts, for the hallway and the room. I listened to that new Placebo of yours, and thought how tedious it was, and though there are some interesting sounds in it, they are rare, while their music is usually far too boring. They need more madness. And their tragedy and torments are fabricated and artificial, they ought to stop exploiting that frigid image.
The frost and Placebo are both equally tedious.
And on the way back it was Gang Gang Dance’s frist album and walking was easy, not cold at all. Yes, there is a track there, it is like Orthrelm, only made earlier and different, with more drums.
Nothing else to say.
