And ordinary people somehow seem increasingly inclined to vote for the Harmony Party, which is a little surprising. I thought the rough-and-ready Dzimtene (Motherland, that is) would siphon off the less sophisticated voters. I suppose it doesn’t have enough clout, only little old pensioner ladies fell for it.
Anyway, let the Latvians in the comments write who they’re going to vote for and why; I’d be interested. I personally promise each of you one "thank you" on your monitor.
I’m also quietly amazed by the universal spread of the internet among the masses. Women at the bus stop say to each other: "Call me on Skype", while men around 35 get internet plans better than mine so they can download endless mountains of films and porn. And that’s not even mentioning teenagers, among whom it’s impossible to find anyone who doesn’t use https://web.archive.org/web/20070202004158/https://www.one.lv, even if only from a mobile phone.
And when it comes to people who work with computers, the only point in asking them anything is to find out which provider and plan they use, because none of them can imagine life without the internet.
Anyway, I’m writing banalities because I worked far too hard today, even though it was pointless.
