By the way, the RAID I mentioned the other day finally worked. The problem was a bad block encountered by the mirroring process, which caused it to stall.
With the help of the miracle program mhdd, the bad block, which turned out not to be physical (but logical), was fixed, the RAID was rebuilt from scratch, and everything started working.
Then I tested what would happen if one of the disks "failed." Everything worked fine.
So nVidia RAID-1 is safe to use.
