I generally really dislike the Apple company for the worst traits of multinational corporations and creating a cult around themselves, but the new iPhone is what I've always dreamed of (and wrote about).
For those who are completely lazy — it's a pocket computer/multimedia player/GSM phone with a huge, super-high-quality touchscreen, an 8 GB drive, a 2 MP camera, an excellent internet browser and a wi-fi wireless network. And the main thing — NO STUPID KEYBOARD, which is useless as hell on such a device. The input is touch-based, and with fingers at that, without a stylus.
It's going to be an amazing thing, I can feel it. To those who haven't heard anything about it — you'll still need to protect your ears, since there will be several news pieces a month. And there are already tens of millions of fans right now, even though the device will only come out in June in America and at the end of the year in Europe.
If only it wasn't crippled, that is, artificially limited from all sides, it would be absolutely wonderful. But it will surely work only with iTunes, use expensive proprietary features wherever possible, for example when connecting to a computer. Or take this — there's no memory card slot. We'll be lucky if the sound quality is good (which is unlikely). Although average will suit me fine, since I'm not an audiophile.
The only thing that really saddens me is that it will have MacOS, which means my dear .NET Framework isn't there and programs for Windows Mobile, of which there are plenty, won't work.
So, time to start saving up money.
