The thought crossed my mind that JavaScript ought to be replaced with something more decent. The thought also crossed my mind that Flash ought to be replaced with something more decent. And the thought even crossed my mind, why on earth can't we create something like Java applets/ActiveX using .NET?
And while all this was crossing my mind, Microsoft was taking action. I didn't bother to find out the details earlier, and I was very wrong. If all goes well, the face of the internet will change beyond recognition in a few years. A lot depends on the openness of the standard and support from the open-source community.
