We live as long as we fly

The Trip

I went to Riga today.
Showed my defense speech to my academic advisor. The advisor approved and tweaked it.
kitobow will now be able to call me a wine mushroom with a clear conscience. Bought 9 bottles of wine, barely dragged them home. True, I didn't buy them in the store I was planning to, but no big deal - I'll make up for it after the defense on Tuesday.

Funny thing - I think I saw exler in Old Riga, he was pitching something to a flock of tourists trailing after him. Exler, if that was you, please sign an autograph for me in a comment, I'll show it to my sister.

I also ran into some friends, they are all a bit stressed out, and everyone is having problems with their theses. Hang in there, bros.

I saw the festivities dedicated to the main Latvian  holiday - Līgo, the day of the summer solstice. There were probably as many foreigners there as locals. For some reason, they were mostly selling smoked fish, as if that is somehow connected to the traditions.
I accidentally popped into a Stockmann supermarket and saw girls and guys dancing in national costumes.

Such actions are to my liking MC

On the way back, I read a programming book on my Sony Book Reader. It wasn't for nothing that I suffered yesterday until half past twelve - converting djvu to bmp and cropping it. Impressions -  strictly positive. That is, with some effort, djvu can be read on a Sony Reader, although it's not very convenient, since the whole page doesn't fit on the screen. We will perfect the process.

The hosting provider finally managed to rein in their  problems, and https://web.archive.org/web/20060415181401/https://radio.super.lv is working normally (I hope).

And one more nice thing - I managed to conquer embedding windows media video into LJ. I hope I'll start using it.
