We live as long as we fly

Biorobots are already here

Well, who was doubting it?

Rat neurons were taken from animals at the embryo stage and carefully processed in a special way, making it possible to connect 60 electrodes to the living brain. Since keeping the cells alive is quite difficult, and they need special temperature control, the «head» of the creature stays in one place, communicating with the body via a bluetooth connection.

The innovation of the experiment lies in the fact that the brain not only sends impulses making the robot move, but also receives signals from the sensors of its «body», analyzing them. Thus, truly good results were achieved: after its first acquaintance with the surrounding reality, the robot recognizes 8 out of 10 obstacles and successfully avoids them.
