Went to Medumi. Didn't feel like taking the same road back, so I rolled along the dirt road. Made a description on Google Maps, the markers are filled in, hover your mouse over them and read if you really have absolutely nothing better to do. It's picturesque in Medumi. And it smells nice when you ride along the dirt road leading to Svente. I rode 61 kilometers in 4.5 hours. Speed, excluding dawdling, was 22-25 km/h on the asphalt (the hills are terrifying up to the border) and 15-20 on the dirt road (the washboarding – my respects). Next season I'll retrofit my bike for trails, meaning unpaved roads. I'll buy wide rims, tires, a fork, and if I have the money – a seatpost.
Awesome spot for a house, waterfront, hell yeah.
No fences, there are small piers, convenient for swimming.
And here someone is only just getting ready to build a house.
Lake Šķirsteņu. Judging by the dictionary, “Casket lake”.
Akmens – means stone. Don't know what the suffix in this word means.
“Big ol' stones”?
Guest house “Ezermala”, meaning “Lakeshore”. There are a million places with that name.
15 lats a night, sauna 15 lats an hour. Kind of an expensive sauna.
Can't believe they weren't too lazy to mow this. If you remove the tree, you'd get ”Windows XP during a drought”.
The little bugger in the center is a kurepesa.
