Curious info for young people living in Latvia, and using Hansabanka.
Up to 25 years of age, they issue a Visa Open debit card for 3 lats a year, issuance - 1 lat, no commission on purchases in stores abroad.
After 25, they issue a Visa Classic debit card, costs 10 lats for issuance and 10 lats a year, 0.5% commission.
Well, or you can get a cheaper Visa Electron, for 5 lats a year. But it's not much good for internet shopping.

You can also get a credit card, everything there is free, except for credit interest and withdrawing cash from an ATM (1 LS + 2.5% – robbery), so for me that's not an option.
