People were sharing links to this funny cartoon everywhere, but I somehow missed it back then. But I've watched it now, and I highly recommend it to everyone. It's excellently done. There's a little bit of Latvian in it, but overall everything is perfectly clear even without subtitles.
In the final frames – that's them already indulging in wishful thinking. Our country, as the saying goes: “Is in the US zone of influence”, and voluntarily at that, even though geographically it's located very far from them. Besides, we are not behind a fence – a fence, if there even is one, is around the entire European Union. And the EU already twists us around its little finger however it wants (how this aligns with the bootlicking towards the US, I have no idea).
Anyway, our news is pretty bad:
Outside the window it's cold, there's a blizzard and a snowfall, while my mood is so-so and my sore throat keeps getting worse. All of this feels like some kind of epic universal clusterfuck. Just like in the game Fahrenheit – global cooling, everything gets buried in snow, the world perishes.
