For lunch at work, I generally have 1 Gefilus yogurt, which I’ve already written about, and 1 pack of cottage cheese. Any cottage cheese will do, as long as it’s lower in calories and cheaper. Sometimes, instead of cottage cheese, I had microwaveable Annelе porridge (something like “Annushka”), the rice kind.
But now I’m hooked on grainy cottage cheese, under the same Annele brand. Grainy cottage cheese is usually sold in large portions and is expensive, but this one is just right, and when it was on sale it cost only 0.5 Ls.
I’d never really thought about what kind of substance it actually was, but once I’d bought it, I decided to look it up on Wikipedia.
Grainy cottage cheese is a low-fat variety of cottage cheese. It consists of cottage cheese curds mixed with fresh, lightly salted cream[1]. It can be eaten as a dish in its own right or used to prepare various salads (for example, a vegetable salad with grainy cottage cheese).
