When I was still very young, I already wondered why a “cinematic image” was considered better than “video"—that is, why footage shot with a movie camera (films) was considered better than footage shot with a video camera (TV series). Yet it is obvious that the opposite is often true, and the video camera image is better.

The thing is, a movie camera shoots 24 frames per second, while video shoots 50 (PAL) or 60 (NTSC) fields per second (apparently, there are now models that can shoot 60 full frames per second)
Of course, other parameters are also important, such as resolution or color range, but still.
