We've got a well-known kiosk here moving from the center to the almost-center, so a rare thing for Latvia is happening there - 30% off everything. Went and checked - and it really is on everything (except tobacco products and some other trivial stuff).
Then I even swung by a drugstore dubbed Drogas (a name like a Lithuanian dog's), to compare the price on my favorite Nivea shower gel.
Oddly enough, the capitalists didn't let me down here either. With the discount at Rimi the gel costs 1.50, while at Drogas without the discount it's a whopping 2.70. The difference, say what you will, is substantial, especially if you stock up on a few. I'm generally not a big fan of doing that, as I've been burned by it before, but there don't seem to be any hidden catches here. Shower gel is just the thing, always needed, and it ain't gonna spoil.
So tomorrow I'll go again, and indulge in the sin of consumer-whoring.
