In case anyone is wondering, I exercise 7 days a week, at least an hour a day. The workouts are intense. I do this not because I'm such a huge fan of it, but because otherwise I feel unwell, the reasons for which I won't go into. (I mention them from time to time here and in real life.)
Sometimes the days change, but usually the routine is like this.
| Monday | Pool, 62 laps right now (25 meters is 1 lap). Every visit increases the number by 2, i.e., next time it will be 64. | 0:45 |
| Tuesday | Gym. Elliptical trainer at resistance 6-16 (alternating) for an hour. Then a lot of ab exercises, some leg exercises (I had a torn ligament, if you recall) and barbell squats. If I have time, I do a thorough stretch on the cage before all of this. | 2:30 |
| Wednesday | Yoga, aerobics, and strength training on the Wii game console, using Wii Fit and the Balance Board. Don't be skeptical about it — try doing them yourself, and you'll see how tough it really is. Also gradually increasing the number of exercises. | 1:20 |
| Thursday | Pool, same as Tuesday. | |
| Friday | Bicycle, speed at least 30 km/h for an hour, covering 30 km respectively. I'll be increasing the time by 2 minutes per session. I often bike on other days if I don't have time to go to the gym/pool or do the Wii. | 1:00 |
| Saturday | Gym, sometimes the pool downtown with a sauna and a Turkish bath, to relax and unwind. | |
| Sunday | Wii Fit |
Every weekday after lunch I take a walk in the woods. In the evening after 10:00 PM I watch anime, and during this time I stretch my right leg, where the ligament was torn.
Despite such a workout load, I'm really not all that athletic and healthy, but rather quite the opposite. I only recently started exercising in this mode; before it was fewer reps and not every day, and even earlier I was a total couch potato.
I only skip my workouts if I'm out of town or sick. I'll try to fix the former by learning to do the Wii Fit exercises and yoga without instructions. As for illnesses, I hope there won't be any in the summer (there weren't any last summer).
I plan to stick to this routine until my weight hits 80 kg, after which I will reduce the time of each session (but not the frequency, type of exercises, or intensity). In general, I think I'll be exercising like this for the rest of my life. I might vary the types so I don't get bored: I'll go to yoga, stretching, or aerobics classes at the gym, maybe water aerobics, Pilates, or something else, good thing there's a choice even in our town.
Naturally, I have almost no free time on weekdays, because I sleep at least 8 hours, and I strive for 8:30. Right now, when it's dangerous to ride a bike, getting to work or the gym takes a lot of time. Luckily, my colleagues always give me a ride if it's on their way, for which I thank them very much.
I'll write about my diet separately.
