We live as long as we fly

Briefly

  • Went to a sale at Olimpiyskiy, bought three shirts, accidentally walked out with a fourth one for free. It was hanging on the outside of my backpack, and nobody said a word! The sellers were a meter away, the guards too, and my friend was actually walking right behind me. No one noticed. I'm a ninja, a master of disguise!
  • Installed a Firefox plugin that shows all prices directly in lats instead of euros and bucks. Instantly lost the urge to buy everything in sight, because in a foreign currency you can't adequately grasp the cost, even if you convert it in your head. But this way you immediately think: "holy crap, that's a lot to ask for a piece of junk." Even if it's a pretty piece of junk, and you really want it.

A black cat sits with its back to the viewer, looking at a stylized dark blue night sky with swirling patterns, bright stars, and a yellow crescent moon over a city silhouette with a church spire.

  • My face is almost entirely back to normal now. Right after getting discharged from the hospital, a week later, improvements started showing, and in the month (roughly) since the whole ordeal, there's been huge progress. True, they did pump and shove mountains of meds into me, plus rounds of various physical therapies. Details in person, for anyone who needs them. I expect a full recovery in another month, and an almost full one in a week.
  • Compared several online to-do services, i.e., task managers. Only toodledo.com seemed feature-packed, so I'll try using that one. rememberthemilk.com, asana.com, producteev.com, workflowy.com are either too simplistic or have some other issues. Nice to see AJAX everywhere and everything is super fast.
