FAQ: The Experience Society

For once, I’ve read an article whose ideas are new rather than old.
Incidentally, from this perspective, it turns out that society has partly embraced the ideals of hippies and other New Agers—your personal emotions matter more than the reaction of that very society. The next stage is the ideals of Buddhism, where even emotions do not matter. However, only a negligible part of the population is interested in any of this; the rest remain stuck in the consumer society. I see nothing wrong with that, though, because progress, as I understand it, is possible only when there is consumption.
