Cats exterminate birds

The cat got her way yet again, and still managed to have a swift for dinner in my absence. Found only feathers and the remains of the carcass on the floor.

And even though I put a new screen on the window, it turned out to be completely useless, no match for a single claw.

I confess, this was obvious beforehand, and I had already gotten hold of a sturdy one, but just couldn't get around to installing it. In my current condition, this often runs the risk of falling out of the window, so it's excusable.

Remember, cats that roam outside wipe out several billion birds in the US alone. This reduces ecological diversity, and many bird species on islands have gone completely extinct from such a catocide.

Make sure to buy a bell for their collar if you let your cat outside, if the fate of our planet matters to you and you're not just a random passenger here.
