I could have already published a book, or participated in https://nanowrimo.org/ with such rich material.
The dream started with me visiting a journalist already familiar from previous dreams.
First, he showed me how his cactus was blooming with fried spring rolls just in time for breakfast. After having breakfast, I took a shower. Afterwards, wrapped in a towel, I went into the bedroom, where a beautiful naked black maiden was waiting for us. I was just getting ready to take part in an orgy for the first time in my life, when I realized that I was the third wheel here. Feeling bummed out, I went into the second bedroom, but there the host's wife was in bed having fun with another black maiden.
I realized that there was nothing to catch here, and decided out of grief to at least entertain myself somehow – by going to the movies. The new multiplex was located in a huge multi-story shopping mall, which looked like a giant log cabin, about a hundred meters tall. “Wow, look at what they've built in Daugavpils, and I didn't even know” – the thought crossed my mind.
The film was about a young man who hung out with an older guy, a lover of all things weird and tricky. He was constantly egging the young guy on to various adventures, exploring roofs and basements, pulling pranks, and reading punk books. As a result, the main character became increasingly distant and strange from the perspective of those around him, even though they still gladly hung out with him because of his broad-mindedness.
In the climax of the film, there is an unexpected twist: it turns out that the older Carlson-like friend was imaginary, and no one except the main character could see him.
On the roof, surrounded by a dozen of his real friends, the young man has an epiphany and thereby grows up. At this moment we see the mentor for the last time, already gray-haired and with a cane. He comes to that very roof to say goodbye, but as a touch of magical realism, this time everyone around him sees him. The film ends on this note.
After the screening, the audience began to disperse, and I realized that a significant part of the crowd were actors from the film. Impressed by the movie, I started wandering around the shopping center and chatting with them. I found out that this was actually a major event for Daugavpils – the world premiere of a big movie, which is why there were so many actors here.
Short, stylishly made-up mulatto girls with soft eyeshadow and mascara, emphasizing their sultry look, complained to me that they couldn't go outside. The thing is, the climate out there was too nasty, which could damage their delicate skin, which would take a toll on their acting careers.
Full of impressions, in the evening I decided to meet up with friends, as I usually do on weekends. We headed to the bank of the Daugava river, which was unusually flooded for this time of year, spreading out to practically 300-400 meters. Pasha poured us some tea, even though the weather wasn't really suited for hanging out for long.
The hurricane-force wind made the river boil and foam with waves 10-20 meters high. Suddenly, I saw a huge, 150-meter-long inflatable rafting boat, but without any passengers. The furious current swept it past in an instant, but that wasn't all. Behind it moved a giant, hundred-meter-diameter cylinder for water zorbing (that's when you climb into a transparent plastic ball and roll).
Inside it, several dozen people were running in place, like hamsters in a wheel. I thought to myself – “Why would they want to run in place. On the other hand – the river is wild, I bet the impressions will last a lifetime.”
Not a bad day, even if it was in a dream.
