The longer I live, the more people amaze me. So, on Twitter I posted a link to a Goblin “comrade’s” impressions of American healthcare.

I had actually intended to stop reading Goblin for many reasons, but somehow I couldn’t resist and paid his site a visit. I don’t feel like doing anything serious, my leg is aching a bit, so I’m reading all sorts of nonsense.

Anyway, about the post. It is one person’s personal perspective—and not a particularly sympathetic person at that, judging by how he behaves and describes everything.

Yet the “comrades” in the comments go so far as to treat this (propagandistic, it must be said) post as practically the ultimate truth.

Console Linux Troubles

I got so sick of the constant troubles while setting up a Linux server from the console that I decided to write them all down. You can read them and decide whether I'm complaining for nothing or not. I have Debian, this might not apply to other distros.

1. If you paste from putty into the midnight commander editor, it automatically tries to add extra spaces at the beginning of the line (so-called autoindent) and the formatting goes to hell. This can be disabled, but I had a really hard time finding how to invoke the mc editor options.

The next day at 7 AM the doctor ran in, looked at my leg, bent it at 45 degrees, gave 4 instructions in 30 seconds, and ran away so fast that I barely had time to ask anything.

I should mention here that Dr. Guzenko is generally always very busy, doing over 800 surgeries a year! and because of that, he moves around very quickly, and fills out paperwork even quicker. He answers questions, of course, but you absolutely have to prepare them in advance and memorize the answers well, don't ask him to repeat them, you won't have the time.

I always get stumped by the question of what kind of music I like.

It's always easier to cheat and show rather than tell. I like this kind of music, for example, like this Russian band Moremoney with their album Tricky. (I know it's old news)
