Montenegro — 2, finishing moving in the right direction

And in this post I'm going to decipher all sorts of random recordings from the dictaphone.

We loaded up and rolled out at 22:30, and on the recording you can hear Doomer's optimistic comment: “We gotta get drunk!”

We arrived a day later in the early morning, around 5-6 AM. The road trip, judging by the GPS tracker, took 31 hours and 16 minutes.

Our van was quite modern and comfortable: it had a computer to calculate the fuel in the tank (we picked it up empty and returned it empty), an auto-hold parking system so it wouldn't roll backward, air conditioning, two cigarette lighter sockets, and other cool perks.

Montenegro — 0, Introduction

We were planning to go to the Black Forest, Germany, but ended up heading to Montenegro instead. This played  right into my hands, because my life plans dictate that I visit two new countries a year, and I had already been to Germany.

We decided to visit Montenegro in May to catch the holidays (May 1st and 4th are days off in Latvia).

Montenegro — 1, starting to move in the right direction

On Friday evening, the Riga folks picked up the minibus, packed the bikes and gear, and headed to Daugavpils. By nightfall they were here, and by that time we had already unhurriedly stuffed our bikes into boxes, and were slightly excitedly awaiting the start of our adventures.
