We live as long as we fly
Balaklava is a town where a highly classified submarine base was located in Soviet times. After the collapse of the behemoth power, everything was quickly plundered. By the time they came to their senses, they turned it into a museum, but it had to be restored bit by bit.
We drove through Sevastopol, which didn't exactly impress us, and on its edge, right by the sea, we visited an ancient Greek settlement — Chersonesus Taurica. Only ruins remain of it, but that'll do too. Luckily, we joined a guided group, so we could actually listen to how things used to be back then, rather than just staring blankly at old stones. Unfortunately, we were out of time, and the tour ended halfway through for us.
