I have a young friend who is incapable of getting noise and all that.
He probably has good taste, seeing as he listens to blues.
To him, 2h company is just word salad, noise, and all that.

If good taste does exist, it's very harmful to appreciating music.
The latest album by The Gathering is done tastefully, and yet it's total crap.

Miscellaneous

Tea with Jabberwocky rules.
A few days ago I saw a program about fishermen on RTR, and it used music from the game Fallout in the background; yesterday, some program used Gonzales’s album Solo Piano as background music. Amazing.
I wrote on Reddit that Kasparov is an asshole, and people agreed with me. Amazing.
Someone here writes that he needs money, while what I need is energy. I have the desire, and I have a little time, and I have a bit of sense, but I have no energy. What can you do.
The dog now demands half-hour walks three times a day. Considering that I walk to work,  soon all my time will be spent walking. It is good for me, of course, no doubt about that.

Payday is coming soon, and I’ll buy a bicycle. For some reason, good things always cost around 1,000 dollars (I’ve written about this before, haven’t I?)
It’s some kind of obsession. I don’t have 1,000 dollars for a bicycle, so I’m thinking of spending 500–700. On the one hand, that’s quite a lot; on the other, it’s not something I’m buying for just a month, or even just a year. As always, choosing one is a terrible problem, because I’m not even sure about myself, let alone about what our shops sell for that kind of money. And buying a bicycle is still better than buying beer and stuff

It would also be nice to get a Powerball hand exerciser. It’s hard to describe what it is; you have to see it in person. It’s a very good thing, but the price is a little high because of the patents and decent quality. There are videos on the official website.

I also have a bracelet made of 50 little magnets. It’s an absolutely fantastic toy. As soon as people see it, they immediately grab it and start playing with it. Its therapeutic value shouldn’t be underestimated either :-) I don’t mean the positive effects of the magnetic field, but the positive effects of fiddling with the magnets.
To see how it works and what it looks like, look here. You can buy one on eBay from the emovendo store, or here’s a prettier version.

Skaņu mežs

On May 12 in Riga there will be the Skanu mežs festival, that is, "Forest of Sounds"
Playing there will be: boredoms, mouse on mars, no-neck blues band, the books !

Well...

For the past week, I’ve been doing fairly simple tasks at work and enjoying it.
But today I’m racking my brains, trying to do complicated things neatly and properly. It all ended, of course, in vicious copy-pasting. I’m writing all this because I’m angry inside, my head hurts, and I’ve already driven my colleagues mad with my whining.
I need to vent this negativity somewhere it can be neutralized by indifferent virtuality.
