A flashmob. Wrote this a while ago, decided to finally post it.
1. What do you do when you are scared? Say, a plane drops into an air pocket, an artillery bombardment starts, a cholera epidemic... In such cases, I take reasonable but completely insufficient measures (fasten my seatbelt, hide in a trench, wash my hands), and then I pray. What about you?
I'm often scared for no reason, so I've gotten used to it somehow (although you can't really get used to it). I convince myself that there's no reason to be afraid, if nothing can be done anyway, and it's just my imperfect brain inventing fears for itself out of reasons that don't exist in reality.
2. Do you not want immortality? Or do you want it, but hope to achieve it through pragmatic methods, such as new medical technologies, for example? Or do you want it, but know it's unattainable, so there's no point in wasting time?
